Medical Students
We are proud to be a recognised teaching practice.
You can help shape a new doctors career by seeing students. (It's been reported the best learning has been achieved from seeing and speaking to patients). This allows them to develop skills which will stay with them throughout their career.
The first few years of their training will be observational whilst in the surgery however, the students in their final year of training maybe asked to take your completed history and report back to their supervising physician. They will then discuss and review the information and come up with a patient plan which is approved by their supervisor.
We therefore ask that you be sympathetic if you are asked to see a student initially. We do recognise that sometimes this may not be appropriate. You do of course have the right to decline and your refusal will not affect your health care in any way.
